I meant to say the book series The Famous Five by Enid Blyton instead of just Five.


With Thomas Hardy, he created a mythical Wessex in his novels, where places in there would be similar to actual places in Wessex. Some of these places include: Weymouth, which was called Budmouth in his novels, Dorchester, which was renamed as Casterbridge and is the main location for his novel The Mayor of Casterbdridge.

In Tess of the D'Urbervilles, the protagonist, Tess, walks through a place called Chaseborough, described as 'a decayed market-town'. In real life, Chaseborough is called Cranborne and here is a photo of some houses in the town.
